Akron General’s Health & Wellness Center is a model of medical and wellness integration, bringing together fitness/wellness membership programs, physical therapy, sports medicine, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, women’s programs, and diagnostic and emergency services.

The physical environment promotes true integration of programs and services through creative space planning and design development. The facility effectively supports the sharing of staff, equipment, building amenities and exercise/recreational areas such as pools, a gymnasium, group exercise studios, a weight training area and locker rooms, while also providing the most current technology in diagnostic and emergency care facilities.

Among the major program components is the Lifestyles Wellness Center, combining a state-of-the-art health club with rehabilitation services. The spaciousness of this area, which totals 47,000 square feet, gives users an open, free feeling during their workout routine. The 10,000-square-foot physical therapy area provides four private exam rooms, six semi-private exam rooms, a whirlpool, a hot-water therapy pool and an integrated fitness floor.

Upscale components include a locker room featuring a sauna, a whirlpool, a steam room, private family facilities and a lounge, as well as Mario’s International Spa, a 4,500-square-foot, full-service day spa.
