Sooner Park Pool Slide Addition

Bartlesville, Okla.
Construction Cost: $3.5 million
Area / Square Feet: Withheld
Occupancy Date: October 2020

After analyzing attendance, expenses, revenue and construction costs in a feasibility study, the Bartlesville Chamber of Commerce and the City of Bartlesville elected to refinish the existing pool and expand the facility with three new 40-foot-tall waterslides and space for an additional three flumes in the future. Completed in time for the 2023 summer pool season, the new slides are located adjacent to the existing pool deck and feature a variety of twists and turns to provide a thrilling experience for swimmers of all ages.

All three slides are body slides, and one is a speed slide. One slide features both enclosed and open-air sections. It is designed for riders to slide down on their backs and features a variety of twists and turns before ending in a runout. The speed slide is designed for riders to slide down on their backs and features a straight run with a sharp vertical descent before ending in an extended runout. This slide is popular with teenagers and older children seeking a more extreme attraction. All of the slides have safety features including lifeguards at the start and finish, as well as emergency stop buttons.
