In Winter Haven, Fla., a historic stadium is being renovated. The $20 million project will construct four state-of-the-art collegiate-level baseball fields. They will include cutting-edge facilities like dugouts, batting cages, team pavilions, fan areas and expanded parking.

Demolition of the Chain of Lakes stadium in Winter Haven, built back in 1966, began on April 8 and is moving along quickly.

Four collegiate, artificial turf baseball fields will be built on higher ground nearby to serve amateur athletics.

Competitive baseball brings in more than $70 million in economic impact annually to Polk County.

Knoxville’s future multi-use stadium and home to the Tennessee Smokies is halfway done, according to an update from the city.

The grandstand wooden roof desk is complete along with its bridge foundation and concession windows among other projects.

The next major milestone in the $114 million project will consist of the six towering light poles that must be positioned, in addition to, the concourse waterproofing.

Seating areas are also being installed on the third base side. The city shared that the seats are coming later this year, but the concrete is being poured to support the seating.

  • In Lewistown, Penn., the Mifflin County School District and Stadium Fundraising Committee will break ground on the new Kish Bank Field at Donald M. Chapman III Stadium on Tuesday. The new stadium is slated to be completed by December. This would give all Mifflin County High School spring sports teams their spring 2025 season with the new updated facilities. The facility will give the Huskies football program a home for the 2025-26 football season.
