TRADITION

The City of St. Charles, Mo., and the surrounding communities in the northwest St. Louis metro area have enjoyed outdoor aquatic recreation since the early 1990s. The Wapelhorst Aquatic Center and Blanchette Aquatic Center were born out of a desire to maintain top-notch aquatic offerings for the community, and both facilities celebrated their grand openings in 2018.

TWO FACILITIES

The new Blanchette Aquatic Center is a complete replacement of the original facility. It utilizes a unique, flowing free-form layout for the recreational bodies of water, which are offset by an elevation change from the eight-lane, 25-yard competition pool. The Wapelhorst project completely replaced all pool and mechanical systems, maintained the existing bathhouse and concessions areas, and added a new restroom building with first aid and lifeguard offices on the lower level of the pool deck.
