COMPETITION AND RECREATION
The Prairie Lakes Wellness Center was designed to serve the community and families of the Watertown community. The project was driven largely by the need for the community's competitive youth swim teams to have improved modern swimming facilities. The resulting design marries the need of the competitive swimming community and the recreational community by providing a fully equipped competitive lap pool (cold water) and the recreational pool complete with three lap lanes (warm water), a zero-depth-entry play area with multiple play features, and a vortex water slide.

ADAPTATION
The most unique aspect of the project is the flexibility and versatility that is built into the space. The building can adapt seamlessly from a Saturday swim meet supporting multiple teams in a highly competitive environment to supporting birthday parties, senior aqua-cise classes or lifeguard training the very next day.
