The alleged fake rowing resume at the center of the high-profile college admission scandal was filed in court Friday.
A student profile for Olivia Jade Giannulli, the non-athlete daughter of actress Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli, filled out in November 2017 said that she had significant experience as a coxswain and would be a walk-on in the University of Southern California women’s rowing program.
The resume had Giannulli’s first name blacked out but had the 2018 high school graduation year that would match up with Olivia Jade. The document was filed in the District Court of Massachusetts on Friday as part of the “Varsity Blues” college admissions scandal to admit students into elite universities, according to the Boston Herald.

The profile said that Olivia Jade possessed “awareness, organization, direction and steering” while listing various accomplishments she achieved while on men’s and women’s rowing teams from 2014 to 2017. The list included top-15 finishes at the “Head of the Charles-Boston” in 2016 and 2017, although the Boston Herald couldn’t find any results for a “Giannulli” in those years.
The end of the resume says that Olivia Jade would fill the coxswain position on the third of USC’s four boats, while her sister — Isabella Rose — was already in the No. 4 boat. Prosecutors say that neither Olivia Jade nor Isabella Rose rowed in high school and never competed for USC.
“She is highly talented and has been successful in both men’s and women’s boats,” the profile said of Olivia Jade, who is no longer enrolled at USC. A Vanity Fair headline marveled at the alleged resume's "brazen confidence."
The resume was released by the prosecutors in response to a motion from Loughlin and Giannulli requesting information of discussions between investigators and scam mastermind Rick Singer.
Olivia Jade isn’t charged with any crimes in the nationwide scandal that involves numerous parents fighting federal fraud and bribery charges. Loughlin and Giannulli, however, are accused of paying $500,000 for their two daughters’ admission to USC as rowing recruits. The money was allegedly paid through the Key Worldwide Foundation, a fake charitable foundation run by Singer.
According to TheHour, Singer allegedly bribed USC senior associate athletic director Donna Heinel, who was fired when the scandal went public in March, to accept fake resumes for non-athlete athletic recruits. Loughlin and Giannulli have pleaded not guilty and face up to 50 years in prison.
