The University of Notre Dame athletic fields projects are the single largest synthetic turf installation in the school’s history. With a total of three, full size soccer fields and sanctioned rugby field, this turf project represents nearly a half a million square feet of Fieldturf “cool play” turf. A unique feature of this project is the installation of geothermal well fields below the three soccer fields that are connected to a larger geothermal grid as part of a University strategy to reduce energy consumption and costs. The project also includes a band tower, four sand volleyball courts, and a support building for the Fighting Irish Marching Band.
Cost: $6.5 million
SqFt: 487,000 SF (four synthetic turf fields); 3,000 (support building for storage); 32’ tall (band tower); four sand volleyball courts; 11 acres (total project site)
