The MHTC consists of team and coaches/staff locker rooms, athletic training and sports performance rooms, player lounge and dining facility, equipment and laundry rooms, meeting rooms, reception area, media workspace, offices for coaching staff, technical director, and other support staff. It also houses a premier youth soccer academy. The building provides access to the three full sized, lighted soccer pitches (two natural grass and one turf).
MHTC’s design reflects the spirit of European soccer. The design is subtle, while canopies showcase significant angularity inspired by soccer ball stitching that enforces the idea that the game never stops, it moves to the point to score. Natural light, as well as a strong connection to the outside, were requirements of the program. The building meets LEED Silver standards.
