This week, Northwestern University dedicated its brand new Walter Athletics Center. The facility, located on the banks of Lake Michigan in Evanston, Ill., will serve the school’s football program, as well as women’s lacrosse, field hockey, cross country, men’s and women’s soccer, and swimming and diving. Designed by Perkins+Will, the facility features sports performance spaces, locker rooms, a dining center, a football auditorium and sports medicine areas. — NUSports.com

East Carolina University unveiled new digs for the football team inside its Ward Sports Medicine building this week. The upgrades include a renovated locker room, team meeting areas, athletic training headquarters, an equipment room and a new football team lounge. San Diego State also revealed a refurbished locker room for its football team this week. The six-and-a-half month renovation project included 115 custom lockers, a new Mondo floor, six 43-inch TV screens and more. The $2 million project was funded by donors and designed by Gensler. — GoAztecs.com
