Wake Forest University announced that it had completed a pitching lab within the Chris Hurd Player Development Center at David F. Couch Ballpark. The facility is the first of its kind in collegiate athletics, and represents a partnership between the university and Wake Forest Baptist Health. The biomechanics lab will be utilized to develop Wake Forest student-athletes, and will be expanded to analyze athletes from youth baseball programs with the aim of compiling data to identify the root causes of common baseball injuries. — GoDeacs.com

The University of South Carolina football program recently moved into the new Cyndi and Kenneth Long Family Football Operations Center. The 110,000-square-foot project includes a 20,000-square-foot weight room, a 4,000-square-foot cardio balcony, coaches and staff offices, meeting rooms, nutrition stations, dining facilities and a training room. Creature comforts include a player lounge with a video game area, a barber shop, a 15-seat movie theater and more than 300 TVs throughout the facility. Louisiana State University officially opened its brand new beach volleyball stadium on Monday. The on-campus stadium features six competition courts with 2 feet of sand, and has an underground irrigation and wetting system to facilitate competition on hot days. In addition, LED lighting, a customized home locker room, a team lounge and a state-of-the-art training room are also included. — LSUSports.net

The University of Wisconsin opened a new facility for its softball program, including a new locker room, a team lounge, a film review conference area and additional amenities. The team unveiled the new facility in a video it posted on social media.
