A new $300 million event center is planned in Kalamazoo, Mich.
The 320,000-square-foot facility will include two basketball courts, practice ice, an event hall and two parking decks.
It will also house Western Michigan University’s men’s and women’s basketball programs, as well as its hockey program.
The center is expected to host more than 230 events a year and create hundreds of jobs.
A new recreational facility for students at the University of Michigan is underway.
University officials and donors signed a ceremonial beam on Jan. 26 to mark the next phase of construction at the $165 million University of Michigan Hadley Family Recreational Building.
The facility replacing the old Central Campus Recreation Building is expected to support up to 3,000 students daily with a host of new recreational offerings.
The Hadley Family Recreational Building plans to open in fall 2025.
