Furman University in South Carolina has announced a $40 million renovation of Timmons Arena.

Timmons Arena opened in 1998 as a multi-use facility, a stage on one side of the basketball court, and despite upgrades has still been a recruiting disadvantage.

Construction will begin in April and is expected to take 14 months, ready to open in time for the 2025-26 season.

The project is being funded by donations, a lead gift of $10 million from Ravenel B. Curry, nine more of at least $1 million each and more than 200 contributions in all.
