William Woods University in Fulton, Mo., broke ground this week on a new multisport stadium.
The stadium will house the university's first intercollegiate football team in its 154-year history, as well as the Owls’ men’s and women’s soccer teams and women's flag football team.
Features include stadium bleachers that will be able to fit and seat that 2,500 range, a press box and a scoreboard. The new stadium will be completed by June, university officials said.
In Massachusetts, a partnership between the city of Lowell, Lowell Public Schools and a nonprofit organization has sourced more than $8 million to finish renovations on Cawley Stadium.
The scope of work, compiled by SOCOTEC AE Consulting, includes redoing Carvalho Field, building an athletic training facility and expanding the track lanes.
The field is expected to be open by late August, in time for the start of the new school year.
