The University of Wisconsin-Superior plans to start work on Superior Choice Credit Union Stadium on April 15.
The stadium — new home to the Yellowjacket men’s and women’s soccer teams, and track and field teams — will be built on the site of Ole Haugsrud Stadium.
The official groundbreaking ceremony for the $7.1 million project will be Thursday, April 25.
The facility is anticipated to be open in September 2024.
The basketball court and multipurpose gymnasium in Freire Charter Wilmington's new athletic center was dedicated in March, but it the facility has been in use for weeks.
The school was able to convert an adjacent low-rise building and create a full-size gymnasium for varsity sports, physical education and events.
