The City of Cedar Falls will provide $3 million to support the University of Northern Iowa's renovation to the UNI-Dome.
The Cedar Falls city council Tuesday approved the FY25 budget which includes $1.25 million for the project, with an additional amount totaling $1.75 million expected to be paid the following two years (FY26 and FY27).
Phase one of the renovation will continue in May as the process to replace the center portion of the UNI-Dome roof will begin.
In Uvalde, Texas, the Uvalde Consolidated School District’s Athletic Department has unveiled a new state-of-the-art weight room.
The upgrade came in due time as the department was resorting to spray painting to upkeep its old equipment.

The city’s elected officials later voted to approve new debt of up to $135 million to help pay for it, which, when secured, will bring the city’s total debt load to $604 million. The new arena will be built in downtown Sudbury, though a number of city council members clarified that it will benefit the entirety of Greater Sudbury. The arena/events centre project is expected to be a conventional design-bid-build project, which under its current projected timeline will open by April 2028.
