
The University of Iowa held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and opened the new Goschke Family Wrestling Training Center to the public last week. The $31 million dollar, 38,500-foot facility is located adjacent to Carver-Hawkeye Arena that housed the programsā Dan Gable Wrestling Complex.
UI President Barbara J. Wilson said the building is a monument to the legacy of Iowa wrestling.

Two months after the selective demolition of parts of the 98-year-old Golden Park began, officials and fans gathered Tuesday at the historic stadium for the ceremonial groundbreaking to celebrate the next step in the $50 million renovation that will bring professional baseball back to Columbus for the first time in 17 years.
But when the Atlanta Braves move their Double-A affiliate from Mississippi to Columbus for the 2025 season, the stadium wonāt be named Golden Park. [Ledger-Enquirer]
The City Council on Tuesday afternoon approved the long-crafted development agreement for the Southside Stadium in a unanimous vote. The County Commission followed suit - with no discussion - on Wednesday morning.
Afterward, Jermaine Freeman, the mayor's chief of staff, said the groundbreaking is now planned for early July.
The agreement was worked out after months of negotiations involving the city and county, the Chattanooga Lookouts, master planner Jim Irwin of New City Properties and the site owner, Perimeter Properties. [The Chattanoogan]
