It's always a beautiful day to play soccer in the Queen City on the Sound, thanks to a brand new downtown facility.

The New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce recently hosted the grand opening and ribbon-cutting of Socceroof at New Roc City, the sixth location for the company.

The company's other locations are in Sunset Park, Crown Heights, Long Island City, and Montreal (two locations).

"We are thrilled to expand our footprint with the opening of our New Rochelle facility," Soccerroof CEO Jean David Tartour said. "Our mission has always been to provide high-quality, accessible soccer experiences for everyone, and this new location embodies that vision perfectly. We look forward to welcoming the local community and fostering a love for the game in a state-of-the-art environment." [Patch.com]

AT&T Stadium is usually the home to the Dallas Cowboys, but yesterday it played host to its second of three games throughout the 2024 Copa América tournament as the US Men’s National team beat Bolivia, 2-0. The international soccer tournament features teams from CONCACAF and CONMEBOL.

The Cowboys’ stadium was built to be able to host a diverse range of events, not just football. The field used for the Cowboys’ and other football games is artificial turf. As that is not allowed for Copa América, temporary natural grass had to be installed. [AS]

As Doak Campbell Stadium remains under construction for its renovation project, Florida State's Seminole Boosters visited on Saturday for a special beam-signing ceremony.

FSU Vice President and Director of Athletics Michael Alford expressed his appreciation for the donors who signed the beam and contributed to the renovation project.

After the signing, the beam was lifted and stacked on top of the other beams on the far right of the constructed stands.

"For them to have an opportunity to come and sign that beam and be a piece of history forever in historic Doak Campbell Stadium really means a lot," Alford said. "They really get a lot out of it, and it's just the fellowship and socialship. Watching this event take place is really something special." [MSN]
