Manchester United have revealed the first images of the potential Old Trafford regeneration project.
ESPN reported last month that United are leaning towards building a new 100,000-capacity stadium rather than redeveloping Old Trafford, although a final decision has not been made.
The club are expected to make a call on the stadium project by the end of the year. ESPN previously reported that it is likely to last six years and is set to cost more than ÂŁ2 billion ($2.5bn).
Building a new stadium on surrounding land is the option favoured by co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the project task force, which includes Mayor of Manchester Andy Burnham and former club captain Gary Neville. [ESPN]
A report from The Columbus Dispatch on Monday stated that Ohio State football is poised to add a new private club experience to the east side of Ohio Stadium with a goal of opening in 2026.
It will be called the '1922 Club;' in honor of the Horseshoe, which opened that year.
The club with be a "speakeasy style" with vintage lighting, lounge, and food and beverage options for members. The cost is expected to be $4,500 for a membership; $1,000 on Ohio State football game days. [Athlon Sports]

Last Tuesday, at the Northfield City Council meeting, the architects for the new Ice Arena revealed an updated design plan. Currently, the design is about 30% complete, and this is the first visual look at the design. The new ice arena would be located at Cannon Road and Honey Locust Drive in southern Northfield. The architects choose this design for a few reasons. First, it offers space for a second sheet of ice for future expansions. Second, there is easy transportation access as the ice arena is near Highway 3.
However, Mayor Rhonda Pownell, at the council meeting, raised concerns about the number of parking spots and available street parking in the area. The current ice arena has approximately 150 parking spaces between the parking lot and on-street parking; however, that has usually not been enough as the parking lots for businesses around the ice arena have been regularly used during events. The new facility would have 177 parking spaces but few spaces for on-street parking on Cannon Road, which is a smaller road with no paved shoulders. City staff said they would look into additional options for parking. [KYMN]
