Updated renderings of the next era of Charlotte Football are now available, as the department has released new images of the tower project at Jerry Richardson Stadium.

Groundbreaking on the project will begin in 2025.

“This project will be the first phase of revolutionizing our fan experience at Jerry Richardson Stadium,” said Director of Athletics Mike Hill. “Not only will it increase our attendance, but the premium amenities we will be able to offer are essential to a high-quality game experience at the FBS level. I am thrilled to see this project come to fruition and can’t wait to see progress begin in 2025.”

“This is about more than just hosting football games and lacrosse matches,” Hill added. “This expansion will allow us to utilize the stadium for additional community events and year-round usage by our student-athletes for dining purposes.” [Charlotte 49ers

The growth on Vanderbilt's campus can't be overlooked. Through the dust and debris, a brand new building has been erected on campus.

Vanderbilt's men's and women's basketball teams are getting ready to get a new three-story home.

"It's incredible," Vanderbilt athletic director Candice Storey Lee said. "I believe it's the best basketball facility in the country, and I know it gives Shea Ralph, Mark Byington and our student-athletes everything they need to succeed."

The 90,000-square foot practice facility will feature extended basketball courts, a giant weight room, player locker rooms, film and meeting areas as well as coaches' offices. [News Channel 5

After more than a year of construction, Davenport students have new facilities to exercise and compete in. The addition to West High School's athletic facilities was revealed on Thursday, Nov. 14.

For junior Camden Green, the most exciting part is a second gym. He said limited gym space was a problem when the boys' and girls' basketball teams had to practice.

"Last year sometimes, girls and boys, we couldn’t practice because we only had one gym and the Y would be taken up, so some days we just wouldn’t be able to practice," Green said. "So it’ll help us out a lot."

Something else that will help athletes — a new weight room. [WQAD]
