The Certified Lions Football Club announced a new indoor soccer facility at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds.

The two-time national champions shared their upcoming plans and partnership with the OG&E Coliseum.

"This major step forward will allow our soccer program to grow to new heights," said Wilson Navas, owner of Certified Lions FC. It would allow us to offer soccer clinics and enhance the kids' engagement with soccer."

The Oklahoma City Fairgrounds describes the OG&E Coliseum as a state-of-the-art arena that will bring high energy for soccer fans, a new mascot and a whole lot more.

Navas believes the new facility and partnership could lead to the creation of a women's soccer program.[KOCO 5]

The Jacksonville Armada Football Club can begin building its $18.2 million stadium in Downtown Jacksonville.

The city issued a permit Jan. 30 for the soccer stadium at 1041 Albert St. north of the Jacksonville Fairgrounds.

The 14,000-square-foot stadium will have 2,545 seats and an office facility, according to the construction permit. A second phase would expand capacity to 9,472 seats.

Armada President and General Manager Nathan Walter said in November that the team expects to have the stadium completed in time for the start of the 2026 season. [Jacksonville Daily Record]

A new sports complex is now open on Monroe County's east side.

Empire Sportsplex is located in Penfield's Baytown Plaza, near Walmart.

The indoor sports practice facility takes up 6,000 square feet and includes a turf field, batting cages and weight training space.

The new facility was opened by youth baseball coach and Rochester native Hector Vargas.

"I don't think we've seen any pros come out of Webster especially, so it would be a goal of mine to have a couple, if not many down the road, come from Webster and Penfield and around Rochester and be a space where people can look to go to get the training they need," said Vargas.

The sportsplex is set to offer training programs and custom fitness routines for teams and athletes looking to take their game to the next level. [Spectrum Local News]
