The Reno Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board approved by an 8-1 vote Friday to move forward with the hiring of Hunden Partners as the city's agent to continue the work to fully understand the scope of the proposed $1 billion Grand Sierra Resort project.

The project would be anchored by a $380 million arena that would be home to the Nevada men's basketball team and a potential minor-league hockey franchise.

Hunden Partners is a global advisor for real-estate development projects that provided to the Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board a market analysis on the GSR project. That 8-1 vote Friday authorizes a payment not to exceed $90,000 for Hunden Partners to continue more work on the proposed project, including completing a gap analysis. The money will be paid out of Reno Redevelopment Agency funds. [Nevada SportsNet]
