Greenfield (Calif.) Middle School celebrated the grand opening of its first-ever state-of-the-art gymnasium, The Nest, on March 28, 2025. The new facility, located at 1109 Pacheco Rd., is set to enhance the school's physical education and athletic programs.
The 14,000-square-foot gymnasium will serve as a venue for home games, graduation ceremonies, and physical education classes. The facility is equipped with air conditioning and heating, ensuring a comfortable environment for all activities.
"The goal behind the construction of this fitness center is to provide a comprehensive and supportive environment for teaching physical fitness, developing athletic skills, and fostering a community of health and wellness where all our students feel supported," said a school representative. Monday, March 31 was the groundbreaking ceremony for a new sports complex in Henderson County.
The complex is coming to Berkeley Mills Park.
The project will add six tennis courts, four soccer fields, and a softball field to the park.
The historic Berkeley Mills Ballpark, which was built in 1946 is also being preserved. [ABC News]
Officials say a state-of-the-art recreation center is in the works in Jessamine County.
The vision began in 2006, and due to the size of the project, organizers decided to develop the center in phases. Some time later, the city purchased a 110-acre parcel in hopes of bringing the vision to life.
On Thursday, March 27, Nicholasville-Jessamine County Parks and Recreation detailed the investment into the over $18 million facility. [Fox 56]
