A fencing perimeter has been established outside Gate 3 of Worthen Arena, bordering the Shondell Practice Facility and adjacent to LaFollette Field. Construction is expected to begin this month for Ball State's newest athletics facility, the Eric Foss Championship Performance Center.

Named in honor of a lead gift from 1980 Ball State alumnus Eric Foss, who has previously been CEO of Aramark and the Pepsi Bottling Company, the Eric Foss Championship Performance Center is expected to elevate the strength, conditioning and performance efforts of over 350 student-athletes from 18 Cardinals sports teams. Completion of the project is anticipated for Winter 2026.

Designed by MSA Sport, an architectural division of MSA Design, this 11,000 sq. ft. high-performance facility will raise the bar in the Mid-American Conference and beyond. Pridemark Construction is the construction partner. [Ball State University]

Greeley City Council voted 5-2 on Tuesday to approve the plans for a $1.1 billion entertainment district that would transform the west side of the city.

Plans for the Greeley Westside Project call for an arena with three sheets of ice for youth hockey, a water park, a hotel and conference center. Future development would include housing, retail and a transit hub.

Water Valley Company will work with the City of Greeley on the 300-acre project, which will be bound to the south by Highway 34 and to the north by Highway 257, between County Road 17 and Highway 257. [ABC7]

Construction on the most expensive public works project in the history of the city of Jonesboro has started. Ground was broken Friday (April 11) on the $77 million multisport complex that city officials have spent years wrangling over the details of the project.

“This is a monumental day for the city of Jonesboro,” said Mayor Harold Copenhaver at the groundbreaking.

The main structure will include 12 basketball courts that can be converted into 24 volleyball courts, 36 pickleball courts, and a natatorium. The natatorium plan has a 50-meter pool, a competition diving pool, and a warm-up pool. The natatorium features seating for 1,245 spectators. [TB&P]
