The baseball field at Ozark (Mo.) High School will be renovated and artificial turf will be added as part of an overall project totaling less than $2 million.
The school board voted June 19 to approve a proposal by Mid-America Sports Construction to prepare the site and install the AstroTurf.
The company was behind similar projects at Drury University, Evangel University and various Missouri high schools.
Middle Tennessee Plans Ribbon Cutting for Athlete Performance Center
Middle Tennessee State University will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. CT to officially open the new Stephen and Denise Smith Student-Athlete Performance Center.
The event will take place in the area between the Rose and Emmett Kennon Hall of Fame building and the new Smith Athletic Performance Center (SAPC), located in the north endzone of Floyd Stadium.
The three-story, 85,000-square-foot facility will serve as the new home for Blue Raider Football while also providing premier training, nutrition, and sports medicine amenities for all MTSU student-athletes. It is the centerpiece of Phase I of the Build Blue Campaign, a $25 million private fundraising initiative to transform the athletic facilities at MTSU.
Golds Gym Opens New Flagship Facility in Austin
International fitness and bodybuilding chain Gold’s Gym is beefing up its Austin offerings with a new flagship gym opening Monday, June 30. On the first three days, guests are invited to take tours, try complimentary workshops, meet fitness celebrities, and more.
The new gym is located at 7301 Burnet Rd., about a quarter-mile down the road from Top Notch Hamburgers and across the parking lot from fried chicken restaurant Tumble 22.
The facility spans 30,000 square feet and offers strength equipment, zones for HIIT (high-intensity interval training) and functional training (mimicking natural movements with equipment like kettle bells and resistance bands), a performance area, a stretch suite with wall ball (a type of medicine ball), and a 70-by-15-foot performance turf area.
