Construction Underway as Indiana State Unveils New Blackwell Bullpen for 2026 Season
Construction is already underway at Bob Warn Field at Sycamore Stadium as the home of Indiana State baseball will feature the brand-new Blackwell Bullpen deck beyond the right field wall for the upcoming 2026 season.
The project has been made possible entirely through private funding thanks in part to a gift from the Blackwell family. The 24 feet by 64 feet deck will run from the right field foul pole toward the existing video board in right center and will feature two tiers of countertops allowing fans offering additional opportunities to enjoy the game. Standing nine feet tall at its lowest point, the deck will offer fans a clear view of the action above the right field wall.
Stairs and an ADA ramp will be available for fans to access the Blackwell Bullpen with entrance located down the foul line next to the Indiana State baseball clubhouse.
Pinnacle Bank Arena Unveils $10M in Upgrades
If you were at or watched the AVCA First Serve volleyball event held at Pinnacle Bank Arena last weekend, you probably noticed some new equipment, especially the giant scoreboard.
The $10 million enhancements were mostly completed just hours before the volleyball event with a few minor areas still being finished.
Along with the new scoreboard, PBA added new ribbon boards and video panels for the scorers and media tables.
New LED lighting was installed on the roof and in certain areas of the arena to allow for color changing capabilities.
Shawano High School Breaks Ground on Athletics Facility
It was a big day for the Shawano School District as officials broke ground Tuesday on major educational and athletic facility upgrades funded by a voter-approved referendum.
In November 2024, voters passed a $51.23 million capital referendum to support improvements across the district.
Athletic facility upgrades include new bleachers to replace deteriorated ones that have already been removed, as well as the creation of a high school track and field area. Currently, the middle school track cannot be used for competitions, meaning events will now be able to be hosted at Shawano Community High School.
