Southwest Kansas Sets Date for Opening of Refinery Fieldhouse
The countdown is on. With less than a month until opening day, anticipation is reaching a fever pitch for the debut of Refinery Fieldhouse, Southwest Kansas’ most ambitious indoor athletic facility and a game-changer for the region’s sports community.
The Refinery Fieldhouse is where athletes, families, and sports enthusiasts will come to “Play It All” – and they mean it. The massive venue features an expansive 50,000 square feet of multipurpose turf alongside six basketball courts, six volleyball courts, and five pickleball courts. A dedicated walking track completes the fitness and recreation ecosystem under one roof.
But the amenities don’t stop at the playing surface. The Refinery Fieldhouse is designed for comfort and convenience with private team suites, modern locker rooms, diverse dining options, a full-service bar, and a Pro Shop powered by Pickleball Central – ensuring athletes have access to top-tier equipment and gear.
North Myrtle Beach Announces Expansion of Aquatics and Fitness Center
The additions include a 3,479-square-foot activity room, an auxiliary gymnasium, a 2,462-square-foot aerobics room, a 720-square foot-turfed outdoor play area, a 4,000-square-foot fitness room expansion, a 1,071-square-foot dedicated stretching area, new boys' and girls' locker rooms, and the renovation and expansion of the men's and women's locker rooms.
"It really is a blessing in our community," said NMB Parks and Recreation Director Matt Gibbons, who announced the expansion plans. "Today is not just about the last 20 years. It's about looking at the future."
Gibbons said the project is in the design phase and will hopefully be put out for bid in late spring or early summer.
Hatley recalled her efforts long ago to persuade the city council to go along with the original project.
