Vols Consider Neyland Stadium Expansion

On Wednesday morning, Vols Director of Athletics Danny White revealed that the University of Tennessee was considering expanding Neyland Stadium.

“We are actively exploring the viability of expanding the north end zone, which will allow us to welcome even more fans to Rocky Top,” White posted to X.

This comes after the stadium sold out 27 consecutive times, White said. There were already several changes to the stadium ahead of this season including an expanded concourse.

He also addressed congestion outside the gates which has left some fans struggling to get inside. He said the university plans to remove the Silverstein-Luper building to create a larger space at the bottom of Peyton Manning Pass. He added that they are looking into potential solutions to the congestion in the upper southern concourse.

The final home game on the field was Week 8 against Vandercook Lake. Keller temporarily relinquished his play-calling duties when his former head coach – and recent Michigan High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame inductee – Greg Morrison came to the sidelines for a series after some convincing from his former player.
