
Dover High School Breaks Ground on New Athletics Complex
Students tossed dirt in a ceremonial groundbreaking of Dover (N.H.) High School's new athletic complex as community members cheered and smiled, officially turning a new page for the long-awaited project.
Approved with a budget just over $18 million, aging and inadequate facilities at Dunaway Field will be upgraded, including a condemned outdoor track. A new synthetic turf baseball/multi-sport field is also part of the project.
Swarthmore College Redevelops Cunningham Fields in Athletic Infrastructure Upgrade
Swarthmore College is redeveloping Cunningham Fields, a set of playing fields off College Avenue and North Chester Road, as it updates its aging athletic infrastructure.
Cunningham Fields currently has four grass fields used for lacrosse, field hockey, soccer, rugby, and ultimate Frisbee practice.
The fields would be redesigned to include three new grass and turf fields, six new tennis courts to complement six existing renovated courts, spectator seating, and a pavilion with restrooms, team meeting areas, and a training room with storage, writes Denali Sagner for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
One all-purpose turf field without lighting, a sound system, or permanent seating would be installed for soccer, lacrosse, rugby, ultimate Frisbee, kickball, and flag football.
New Pickleball Facility Slated for Kingsport
A new pickleball-centered project is in the works for the old JCPenney building downtown, developers announced.
The South Carolina based development group Monolith Malls shared details with city leaders and stakeholders at a reception event inside MeadowView Conference Resort & Convention Center on Tuesday.
Located at 301 Broad St., the facility is expected to include six to eight standard pickleball courts and a fitness area, with potential apartments or retail space as well.
