University of Washington Unveils New Broadcast Studio
The University of Washington Athletics today announced the opening of Sundodger Studios, a state-of-the-art broadcast, production and content facility designed to transform the department's live production capabilities while creating new opportunities for collaboration, education and innovation across the University and Seattle's sports and media community.
The studio provides Washington with a purpose-built home for live event production, creative content, and storytelling for an operation that produces approximately 100 live broadcasts and 120 live video board shows. The facility features four next-generation control rooms, a 1,000-square-foot video and photography studio, a 2,300-square-foot multipurpose event space and dedicated areas for equipment repair, storage, meetings and offices.
Sundodger Studios represents the latest step in the rapid development of Washington's broadcast operation following its move to the Big Ten Conference. When the Huskies began Big Ten competition in August 2024, UW Athletics was simultaneously building the production team and infrastructure necessary to meet the conference's increased broadcast demands, with virtually none of the permanent equipment that would eventually comprise Sundodger Studios in place for Washington's first Big Ten event.
Centennial High School Opens New Athletics Complex
Centennial High School officially opened its new athletic complex today with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, just hours before the Patriots football home opener.
“I'm beyond excited. It's like literally glowing,” said Charlee Valentine, a senior on the Centennial High School varsity softball team. "Our dugouts and the benches are just shiny and new, and everything is just — it's new, and it's beautiful compared to everything that we've had in the past."
The renovations bring improvements to the football field and track, a throwing facility, a new concession building and new restrooms.
Keystone FC Plans $10.5M Sports Complex
A Mechanicsburg-based non-profit youth soccer club is planning a $10.5 million new sports complex in South Middleton Township, according to a news release.
Keystone FC announced the purchase of more than 63 acres of land in South Middleton Township near Carlisle to create a "true athletic home" and a premier multi-sport and recreation community destination.
The project, described by the soccer club as "ambitious," will include 10 athletic fields consisting of seven expertly groomed competition-level grass fields and three state-of-the-art synthetic turf fields.
Keystone FC said one of the fields will feature a stadium field complete with lights, a scoreboard, and bleachers for an "enhanced game-day experience."
