Fort Hays State Celebrates Completion of New Athletics Complex
Fort Hays State University (FHSU) invites the public to join in celebrating the completion of its new Bickle-Schmidt Athletic Complex with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, October 2, at 9 a.m. – followed by the opportunity to explore the cutting-edge facility and see firsthand how it’s shaping the future of Tiger Athletics. Attendees should enter through the east doors of the Bickle-Schmidt Athletic Complex and refreshments will be provided following the event.
Head Football Coach Chris Brown, student-athletes, and other special guests will share how this transformative facility is elevating the student-athlete experience and strengthening FHSU’s leadership in sports medicine across the highly competitive MIAA and NCAA Division II.
The state-of-the-art complex represents a major investment in the success and well-being of FHSU student-athletes by providing enhanced opportunities for training, conditioning, recovery, and rehabilitation.
Tampa Bay Lightning Unveil New Premium Spaces at Benchmark International Arena
Vinik Sports Group (VSG) today announced the opening of the Cabot Club, a new premium hospitality destination at Benchmark International Arena, representing another significant investment in the continued evolution of one of North America's premier sports and entertainment venues.
Developed through a new partnership between VSG and Cabot Citrus Farms, the 1,200-acre golf and lifestyle resort destination located less than 50 minutes from Tampa, the Cabot Club features elevated culinary and hospitality programming from Oak View Group (OVG). The approximately 8,500-square-foot space is the result of a multi-million-dollar renovation project designed to elevate the guest experience for fans attending Tampa Bay Lightning games, concerts, and other live events at the arena.
The reimagined club introduces expanded seating capacity, elevated and innovative culinary offerings enabled by enhanced kitchen infrastructure, a private dining room experience, upgraded technology and digital enhancements, and modern hospitality-focused design elements that create a more immersive and elevated premium experience.
Boise State Releases RFP for Stadium-Adjacent Multipurpose Development
New Boise State University President David Hahn Friday announced the formal start of a project BoiseDev first reported on this summer: development of the parking lots on the east side of Albertsons Stadium.
“College athletics is changing rapidly,” Hahn wrote. “Universities across the country are pursuing large-scale developments to generate new resources and remain competitive in uncharted waters. Boise State is no exception. What distinguishes our approach is its broader ambition: This east campus project is intended to support athletics and strengthen the entire university.”
He said the school’s COO Annie Hightower would lead the project.
