$10M Baseball Complex Set to Open in Gluckstadt
A new $10 million baseball and softball complex is set to open in Gluckstadt in about four weeks, with the developer paying for the project himself.
TD Select Baseball sits on 40 acres off Stout Road, near Calhoun Station Parkway. Developer Lee Sahler said he is investing $10 million of his own money to build it.
Mayor Walter Morrison said the city is not an investor in this project. Sahler went through the city’s approval process.
“They didn’t ask the city to contribute financially,” Morrison said. “We don’t have any skin in the game, but we greatly appreciate what they’re doing.”
Sogility Opens Eighth Soccer Training Facility in U.S.
Sogility has officially opened its eighth training facility in the United States and its first in the state of Florida!
Sogility President & COO Jimmy Carson said, “To be able to come to any market and provide this kind of training for a whole other group of kids, another generation, excites us to begin with. For a long time, we thought we were a Midwest company, and then we learned how hot it is down here, a lot of lightning in the area, so to have an indoor center for kids to train is important.”
From rebounding boards to circuit drills, and even vision training, this facility has all of the bells and whistles that any soccer player could desire.
This is state-of-the-art technology used by some of the top teams around the world, and now, it’s available to the young soccer stars of Southwest Florida.
