New Athletics Center Opens in Holyoke, Mass.

A new athletic training facility in Holyoke is helping young athletes build skills and recover after workouts, with a $15,000 donation funding a dedicated recovery lounge.

Train42 celebrated the opening of its new location on High Street on Monday, marking a major milestone for a program that began in a garage during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Six years later, the organization has expanded into a training facility featuring state-of-the-art turf, workout racks and a lounge, with support from local businesses.

During Monday’s celebration, Train42 received a $15,000 check to support the development of the Gary Rome Hyundai Recovery Lounge, a designated space where athletes can recover following training sessions.

Some of that amount would include money transferred from its general fund to other city accounts.
