A host of advances in the production of glass is bringing more light more safely into sports and recreation buildings.

Oqq 407 Ab It is fair to say, with regard to the arena now taking shape in Kansas City, Mo., that no one would have attempted such a building 10 years ago. In fact, even five years ago, in the immediate aftermath of 9/11, you would have been hard-pressed to find an architecture firm, not to mention a building owner, excited about the prospect of an entirely glass-enclosed sports venue. But the Sprint Center - although it will lack an anchor tenant in the form of an NBA or NHL team when it opens this October - will stand as a potent symbol of what is possible as a result of technological advances in the production of glass.
