On Sunday night, a spectator of a local soccer game in Waukesha, Wis., called the authorities after witnessing a physical fight break out between the players of opposing teams, according to a police report.
The eyewitness told police that similar fights have been occurring regularly and are becoming more frequent at the Schuetze Recreation Center in Waukesha.
Police told the Waukesha Patch that the situation on Sunday was handled by a team organizer, who was able to smooth out the conflict between teams.
Team officials agreed to meet with players from both teams to work out what happened and prepare a plan for like incidents, in an effort to prevent future violence.
Police left the players with a warning, promising that future physical conflict at the center will result in banishment from the fields or arrest.
