NIRSA’s Flag Football season is gearing up, with regionals across the nation happening in October and November, and tournament season culminating with our NIRSA Flag Football National Championships tournament taking place in Round Rock, Texas, January 5-7, 2027.

The City of Round will host this year’s National Flag Football Championships in the beautiful Round Rock Multipurpose Complex in Round Rock, Texas.

“We’re so excited to be heading to a spectacular, top-tier venue paired with a world-class hosting team,” says Clifford Richardson, Flag Football Vice-chair and Coordinator of Competitive Sports and Camps at Oklahoma State University. “If their past events are any indication, this upcoming tournament is going to be an unforgettable experience,” adds Clifford.

The road to a national title begins in your backyard

While many of the top teams from across the nation will vie for the title of National Champions in January, their journey to greatness starts much closer to home. Most of the teams competing in Round Rock will earn their place in the competition through their performances at NIRSA’s five Flag Football Regional Championships:

There is still time to register your school’s team to compete in one of these premier regional events and see if they have what it takes to win it all.

Thanks to our partners

NIRSA would like to thank our partners, helping to grow flag football on college campuses across North America.

NIRSA and RQ+, the NCAA’s officiating services provider, have partnered on a focused initiative to elevate flag football officiating nationwide. Through this partnership, NIRSA will provide a custom curriculum specifically designed for NIRSA flag football officiating. This comprehensive program includes training tapes, testing modules, and ongoing continuing education resources. These elements enable mass-certification for NIRSA officials, in an effort to provide consistent, high-quality officiating that enhances the experience for both athletes and officials.

In February, NIRSA announced the launch of a women’s flag football league designed to provide more opportunities for more clubs to compete in regional leagues across the nation. The league is the latest development in the ongoing partnership between NIRSA, NFL FLAG and RCX Sports (the official operating partner of NFL FLAG).
