On Tuesday, the University of Southern Florida announced the findings of a $75,000 feasibility study to examine potential locations and construction costs for a new on-campus stadium.

Athletic Director Mark Harlan told WFLA, “This is the first step of many steps. When you engage in a project of this scope, you want to make sure that you dive in and really take a look.”

The USF Bulls’ new head coach Charlie Strong has reportedly been pushing for a designated football stadium on campus since he interviewed for the job.

The Bulls currently host home games at Raymond James Stadium, which they share with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as well as with concerts, monster truck rallies and other events.

USF is considering four possible locations for a new stadium, and construction costs are projected at between $194,000 and $246,000. All funds will be privately raised.

In a statement, USF Vice President for Administrative Services Calvin Williams assured the public, “No taxpayers’ money, no student tuition will be used to fund this project.”
