The Oakland A’s released new renderings of a proposed new ballpark this week. The new images were released as the Port of Oakland commissioners voted to allow the team to begin what will be a years-long process of preparing an environmental impact report for the potential building site. Plans call for a 35,000-seat venue that will include housing and retail development, about six miles from the team’s current home at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. — Reuters

Liberty University revealed a sneak peek of its new locker room as construction continues on its Williams Football Operations Center. Though construction on the facility won’t be complete until 2020, the locker room and training spaces will be functional in time for the 2019 season. Wichita State began construction on a 10,000-square-foot performance facility that will connect to the baseball program’s Eck Stadium this spring. Slated to open in December, the facility will feature strength and conditioning space, a locker room, a media room, coaches’ offices and a player lounge. The $3 million facility, currently named Phase V, will also serve softball and tennis players. — Kansas.com
