Texas governor Greg Abbott has issued an order that will allow fans to return to outdoor stadiums as long as the venues limit attendance to 25 percent of capacity.
The rule will take affect May 31 and will cover “all professional sporting events that operate at up to 25 percent of the normal operating limits as determined by the venue owner for outdoor events.”
The facilities are still required to get approval from the Texas Department of State Health Services.
Indoor events will still be required to hold events without spectators.
The new order is an addendum to Abbott’s previous announcement that gave the nod for all professional sports to resume without fans.
