The donors who supplied $800,000 to help fund renovations to two different ballfields in Salina, Kan., were revealed last week when the Salina Parks and Recreation Advisory Board unanimously voted to recommend renaming the East Crawford Recreation Area to the Berkley Family Recreational Area. The Berkleys, founders of local community banks, contributed the funds to help upgrade the synthetic turf at the facilities, which serve two local high schools as well as Kansas Wesleyan University. — Salina.com
Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy in Melbourne, Fla., unveiled a $5.5 million athletics complex this week. The facility, which is expected to be fully complete later this fall, features three locker rooms, a 2,000-square-foot strength and conditioning area, coaches’ offices, restrooms and concessions facilities. — Florida Today
The Columbus Crew MLS franchise unveiled new renderings of its $300 million, 20,000-seat stadium this week. The club highlighted fan experience in a recent virtual town hall, including focusing on the video boards and seating bowl.
