A new addition to the in-game experience at University of Kentucky basketball games catches fans chowing down on Rupp Arena food, only to then play the clip in reverse.
The so-called "Snackwards Cam," which has caught on in some National Hockey League venues, results in a compilation of people spitting their food back up or pulling it out of their mouths by hand. "It can be a little gross, but it’s impossible to look away," wrote Drew Franklin of Kentucky Sports Radio, via On3.
During Kentucky’s game against Marshall, many fans were mortified to see themselves reverse-eating nachos and chili, or pretzel that was passed around among multiple fans.
David Alter of The Hockey News echos Franklin's take after "consuming" the new form of in-game entertainment when the Dallas Stars hosted the Toronoto Maple Leafs at American Airlines Center. "It's gross, yet it's also mesmerizing," Alter wrote. "I couldn't look away. Maybe it was because I was wondering what food they would show next."
