Away-game weekend just got a little more exciting at Ohio Stadium. The Ohio State University athletic department is offering a “Things You’ve Never Seen Tour” on the weekend of Sept. 13-15. This tour offers Buckeye fans a chance to explore the inner workings of the stadium and discover a piece of college football history they’ve never seen before.
According to 10 WBNS, “Stops on the tour include the athletic director suite, TV broadcaster booth, bell tower, old “classrooms,” inside the north tower and the home locker room.”
The tour will conclude with a tailgate-style reception, including food and drinks while football games play in the background.
This tour of Ohio Stadium is a continuation of a long-held tradition of ‘never before seen tours’ on OSU’s campus. For years, Buckeye officials have been taking graduating seniors on showcases of areas typically off-limits to students. These tours have included the tunnels under campus and the bell tower in Orton Hall.
This exclusive stadium tour goes well beyond the traditional guided tour of Ohio Stadium where fans can check out spaces like the locker rooms and band room. Traditional tour tickets are priced at $30 for adults and $20 for children. Ticket prices for the exclusive tour have not yet been released, but the pre-sale for season ticket holders opens on August 13.
Ohio State recommends that all tour participants be physically capable of walking long distances in the stadium and be at least 12 years of age. Strollers are not allowed and there are several sets of stairs on this tour.
More than 40 million fans have cheered on the Buckeyes at Ohio Stadium over the years, but now a select few super-fans will have the chance to say they’ve explored every inch of these hallowed football grounds.
