The University of Nebraska may move postseason women's volleyball play to a larger venue this December.
While the team opened its 2025 season at AVCA First Serve at Pinnacle Bank Arena, the Huskers played their regular season at the smaller Bob Devaney Sports Center.
Speaking on his weekly radio broadcast, Nebraska athletic director Troy Dannen acknowledged that moving postseason play from Bob Devaney Sports Center might be a break from routine for the team, but coach Dani Busboom Kelly said more fans would be good for the games.
“If we can double our fans, I don’t know why we wouldn’t do it," Kelly said, according to 10 11 Now. "I do think Devaney is a more home court advantage, but I don’t think it’s so significant (of) an advantage of keeping 8,000 people out from watching us play."
Player Laney Choboy said she enjoyed playing at Pinnacle Bank to open the season.
“I really loved PBA. Everyone there was amazing. Even the gym. Usually passing in bigger gyms is a lot harder but in PBA it felt super comfortable,” she said.
More than 15,000 fans attended each of Nebraska’s two matches inside Pinnacle Bank Arena earlier this year.
Dannen said a potential move would last for one weekend - either the opening rounds or regionals.
