The University of Connecticut board of trustees has approved a $60 million proposal for new baseball, softball and soccer stadiums.

The initial $4.75 million was approved back in March for the design of the three stadiums, and the project is expected to break ground mid-2018.

According to The UConn blog, the new stadiums are part of a larger facilities plan, which could include as much as $185 million for upgrades to recreational facilities. That includes $100 million towards a new student recreation center, $25 million for rec center infrastructure, and $60 million for “athletic stadia and related projects.”

The proposal has passed and will be funded by bonds issued in March of 2018, which the school will repay over time.
