NORWALK, Conn. - Trans-Lux Corporation (NYSE Amex: TLX), a leading supplier of programmable electronic information displays, today announced they were selected to provide state-of-the-art high resolution TL Vision LED displays to the NBC television show "School Pride". The Trans-Lux TL Vision LED displays were installed on the grounds of Needles High School in Needles, California as part of the high school's makeover for the program.
"School Pride", from Denise Cramsey Productions and Horizon Alternative Television, follows the renovation of a different public school each week. The cameras follow students, teachers, parents and community members as they roll up their sleeves and rebuild their own schools, concluding with the unveiling of a brand-new, completely transformed school. In addition to the Trans-Lux LED displays, the renovation to Needles High School also included new classrooms, a new woodshop, auto shop, weight room, electric shop, concession stand and upgraded outdoor spaces.
"We were on board with this project immediately because we know how pride and school spirit can work to positively drive a student body and a community," said J.M. Allain, President and CEO, Trans-Lux Corporation, "Trans-Lux is proud to be chosen as part of this effort."
The scoreboard was designed with an easy to read game information display, which measures 112 x 224 pixels and also features electronic team names, sponsor signage and a field identification sign. A new Trans-Lux LED digital marquee was installed in front of the school and both installations were performed by John Alfino, a Trans-Lux sales channel partner. This is not the first time Trans-Lux has been tapped by the program; previously, Trans-Lux provided Enterprise Middle School in Compton, California with a multi-purpose scoreboard for the first episode of the "School Pride" series.
The episode of "School Pride" featuring Needles High School aired on NBC November 15, 2010, and the Trans-Lux TL Vision video scoreboard prominently displayed the school's home opening win on their new football field.About Trans-LuxTrans-Lux Corporation (TLX) is a leading designer and manufacturer of digital signage display solutions for the financial, sports and entertainment, gaming and leasing markets.
