Philadelphia, PA (December 5, 2013) – Humphrys-CoverSports, a leading national manufacturer/distributor of tarpaulins, industrial fabric covers, military specification tarps and athletic surface covers - windscreens, gymnasium protective floor covering systems, wall padding, gym mats - has acquired Globe Canvas Products, which since 1970 manufactures awnings, as well as other covers and textile specialties. Globe becomes a Division of Humphrys-CoverSports and will move its Yeadon, PA operations and employees into Humphrys 240,000 square foot facilities in Southwest Philadelphia. Kevin M. Kelly, the owner and President of Globe will remain as President of Humphrys’ Globe Division. When the move is completed by year’s end, the Southwest Philadelphia facility will employ 100 people and generate more than $16 million in annual sales.
Ron Nissenbaum, President of the 140-year-old Humphrys-CoverSports explains “We have had a long and close relationship with Globe for many years, and this merger into our company should enable the combined companies to improve manufacturing processes, and grow in new markets. Humphrys future is brighter with Kevin and his team joining ours.”
