Dates Announced for the 2017 Little League® World Series Tournaments

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (November 11, 2016) â€“ The official dates for the 2017 Little League® World Series Tournaments were approved on Friday, Nov. 11, at the annual fall meeting of the Little League International Board of Directors.

“I am pleased to announce the Board of Directors has approved the schedule for our seven World Series tournaments in 2017,” said Stephen D. Keener, Little League President and CEO. “We look forward to another exciting season of Little League Baseball and Softball around the world with the culmination of the year celebrated at the International Tournament in July and August. These tournaments spotlight the hard work and dedication of our players, parents, and volunteers that can be found in thousands of communities throughout the year.”

The final phase of the 2017 International Tournament schedule begins on July 30 with four of the seven tournaments kicking off action, starting with the Little League Intermediate (50/70) Baseball Division and Senior League Baseball World Series, as well as the Junior League and Senior League Softball World Series. On August 9, the Little League Softball® World Series opens up, and just four days later, on August 13, the Junior League Baseball World Series begins. As it does every year, the tournament schedule will conclude with the Little League Baseball® World Series from August 17-27 in South Williamsport, Pa.

Over the course of 29 days, approximately 935 Little Leaguers® ages 10 to 16 from 78 different baseball and softball teams around the world will compete to determine the seven World Series champions for 2017. Learn more about the historical results of previous Little League World Series Tournaments.

Little League Baseball® World Series (August 17-27, 2017)

Eligible Age: 10-11-12 year olds

Location: South Williamsport, Pa. (Volunteer Stadium & Howard J. Lamade Stadium)

History: 59th Season in South Williamsport; 71st Season Overall

2016 Champion: Mid-Atlantic Region - Maine-Endwell Little League (Endwell, N.Y.)

Intermediate League (50/70) Baseball World Series (July 30 – August 6, 2017)

Eligible Age: 11-12-13 year olds

Location: Livermore, Calif. (Max Baer Park)

History: 5th Season in Livermore; 5th Season Overall

2016 Champion: West Region – Central East Maui (Hawaii) Little League

Junior League Baseball World Series (August 13-20, 2017)

Eligible Age: 13-14 year olds

Location: Taylor, Mich. (Heritage Park)

History: 37th Season in Taylor; 37th Season Overall

2016 Champion: Asia-Pacific Region – Shing-Ming Junior Little League (Chinese Taipei)

Senior League Baseball World Series (July 30 – August 5, 2017)

Eligible Age: 13-14-15-16 year olds

Location: Easley, S.C. (Easley Recreation Complex)

History: 1st Season in Easley; 57th Season Overall

2016 Champion: Central Region – Clear Ridge (Ill.) Little League

Little League Softball® World Series (August 9-16, 2017)

Eligible Age: 10-11-12 year olds

Location: Portland, Ore. (Alpenrose Stadium)

History: 24th Season in Portland; 44th Season Overall

2016 Champion: Southwest Region – Greater Helotes (Texas) Little League

Junior League Softball World Series (July 30 – August 5, 2017)

Eligible Age: 12-13-14 year olds

Location: Kirkland, Wash. (Everest Park)

2016 Champion: Latin America Region – ASOFEM Little League (Puerto Rico)

Senior League Softball World Series (July 30 – August 6, 2017)
