Hilton Head Island, SC - Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) is pleased to announce that internationally acclaimed tennis coaches Dave Miley and Frank van Fraayenhoven will be presenters at the PTR International Tennis Symposium. The Symposium will be held on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, February 15-18.
Miley, who will present Important Principles of Effective Coaching, has played a key role in the development of tennis globally. The former ITF (International Tennis Federation) Executive Director of Tennis Development responsible for overseeing the juniors, veterans and wheelchair, as well as the ITF/Grand Slam Development Program, Miley was also in charge of the ITF technical and anti-doping area. In 1992, he started the ITF Coaching and Sports Science Review and remained its editor until 2015, and was instrumental in creating ITF’s online platform iCoach. He was also Irish Men’s Doubles Champion, and is a former captain of the Irish National Men’s Team.
Until October of this year, van Fraayenhoven worked in coach education for the KNLTB (Royal Dutch Lawn Tennis Association) as a tutor and manager. He has been involved in the education of coaches for 37 years, and has worked with coaches and/or players in more than 75 countries. He was a national coach, working with top juniors and top professional players from the Netherlands. A member of the ITF Coaches Commission for more than 15 years, he received the ITF Award for Service to the Game.
Adding to the international flavor of the PTR Symposium are speakers Donato Campagnoli from FIT (Federazione Italiana Tennis or Italian Tennis Federation) and Oivind Sorvald from Norges Tennisforbund (Norwegian Tennis Federation).
