Established in 2004, the id² Program provides an opportunity for elite youth soccer players to be identified, developed and scouted for inclusion in U.S. Soccer’s National Team programs. Top players from each id² age group cycle are invited to participate in National Selection programming, which includes international tours in countries around the world (such as Argentina, England, Germany and Spain), as well as domestic training camps at Nike World Headquarters in Portland, Ore. Within the id² umbrella, Player Development Programs are also conducted regionally to support this platform.

Player Development is one of five pillars of Players First – the organization’s branded, holistic club soccer experience emphasizing the development of each individual and helping parents make better choices about where their children should play. Through its five pillars: Club Development, Coaching Development, Player Development, Parent Engagement & Education and Player Health & Safety, US Club Soccer offers registration, league- and cup-based competition platforms, player identification and a variety of other programming, resources and services.
