One of the most prominent and trusted fitness instructor organizations operating in the UK, The National Register of Personal Trainers (NPRT) is expanding into North America, with an aim to continue to make a positive mark in the fitness industry and expand its reach.
15th February 2017: Washington: The NRPT began operating in 1991 as an organization that provides a link between professional, committed, highly qualified personal trainers, and their clients. Over 25 years on, they have succeeded in carving a niche as a recognized body of professionals, with a verified network of versatile personal trainers who meet the needs of diverse clients every day.
‘’It has been our aim to provide a framework for the development of the physical and psychological wellbeing of individuals. This is why, over the years, we have offered insured and qualified personal trainers all across the UK the advertising they need to help them find clients.’’ said the national coordinator of the organization at their last general meeting.
‘’Driven by our vision to make quality personal training easily accessible to as many individuals as possible, we have decided to extend this platform and expand into North America,’’ he added.
The organization, largely operational in the UK until now, represents the growing number of personal trainers looking to build a client base. As an independent body, they provide a network through which trainers are promoted.
Over the course of over 20 years, the National Register of Personal Trainers (NPRT) has vetted and registered thousands of personal trainers as members, based on strict requirements.
According to an NRPT regional manager, ‘’we only accept trainers who have all the qualifications that meet the requirement of level 3. We ensure that the trainers in our network hold insurance and have a certain level of knowledge of first aid, with first aid certificates as proof.’’
In a bid to contribute to the personal training industry, NRPT helps trainers develop themselves by helping them get in touch with verified and industry recognized fitness course companies. They also help interested individuals pursue a career in personal training.
When asked about how the National Register of Personal Trainers was going to meet the needs of North American clients having been operational in the UK for so long, the national coordinator said, ‘’we have operated with the support of government backed health and fitness bodies including the Register of Exercise Professionals, the National Sports Medicine Institute and the Sports Nutrition Foundation, London Central YMCA, the Fitness Industry Association, Fitness for Industry.’’
‘’Since we find trainers who work within specific areas through regional managers who are able to verify them, the clients who get in touch with these trainers through us can be sure of getting personal trainers with the skills that they require. Our plan is a similar model in the US. Specific strategies and partners are still being worked on. We will be open to contact from qualified personal trainers in the near future. Watch this space!’’
