Vancouver, Wash. – March 1, 2017 – Nautilus, Inc. (NYSE: NLS), a leader in innovative fitness equipment, today announced that the unmatched Zero Runner® machine from Octane Fitness has earned the 2017 iF DESIGN AWARD, a world-renowned design accolade, in the sports, outdoor and bicycles product category.
“Many years in the making, the Zero Runner truly is one of the most innovative products in the fitness industry, enabling virtually anyone to walk, jog or run comfortably without impact,” said Tim Porth, vice president, product development, commercial and specialty at Octane. “We are thrilled to receive this esteemed recognition for the breakthrough design of the ZR8000.”
Each year, Germany’s oldest independent design organization, iF International Forum Design GmbH, presents the iF DESIGN AWARD as a seal of outstanding quality in the following disciplines: product, packaging, communication and service design, architecture and interior architecture and professional concepts. Octane’s commercial Zero Runner, the ZR8000, stood out among more than 5,500 entries from 59 countries evaluated by the 58-member jury of independent experts from around the world.
Zero-Impact Running™
The first true alternative to a treadmill, the state-of-the-art Zero Runner delivers all the benefits of walking and running, but without excessive impact on the body. Independent hip and knee joints facilitate natural running motion, with strides up to 58 inches, while eliminating repetitive impact that can compromise form, cause fatigue and lead to injuries.
Users can monitor and adjust their form throughout workouts with stride tracing technology, choose from 15 resistance levels for walking, jogging, running and hill work, and benefit from various workouts, including interval training and distance or calorie goals. Octane’s exclusive CROSS CiRCUIT® routine combines intervals on the Zero Runner with strength and stretching exercises off the machine for greater overall conditioning.
The Zero Runner has also received the Innovator of the Year award from Sporting Goods Business and the Gepard Award for most innovative product of the year from Sport-Tiedje. The ZR8000 is available at health clubs and fitness centers worldwide; for more information, visit www.zerorunner.com.
